Someone once loved this little (2.75 inches) knife enough to neatly engrave her? initials into the cartouche. I can see why. Beautiful pearl scales, milled nickel silver liners and one of the springs doubles as a nail file. Found out the hard way that the scissors are sill mighty sharp  . N D's revenge perhaps. What did I ever do to her

Good stuff s-k!

I have an old I. Wilson butcher knife from the previous turn of the century or thereabouts that had initials carved in the wood handle scales. Gives you that much more to ponder while admiring the knife and its history.

Thanks for sharing!

As always SK an impeccable pickup...Leaving me drooling for those old vintage knives ...:)

Now that I think about it, s-k, I'm thinking that piece may have belonged to a Notre Dame fan that just wanted multiple ways of cutting their losses! ;)

(And away we go...;) :p  )

So much so that they pressed too hard while trying to engrave the "D" in 'ND' that they split the pearl scales. However, it is still a lovely piece.

This reminds me of a barlow I have. Here is a pic.

I would love to have known 'Cathie' in any part of her life. But especially in her younger days.. Any girl who would have carved her initials into an old Russell Barlow to claim ownership is my kind of gal!!.:D
