We get a couple of these requests a month. Thought someone here might want to apply.

Hi there,

I saw your website and thought you might be the right person to ask... We are looking for a "survivalist and his dog" type for the episode currently in production "Modern Marvels: Dogs" for History Channel. Essentially, we're looking for a guy who braves the wilderness with his trusty dog by his side, man and beast making their way through the wild -- think Bear Grylls and his dog. I think the dog has to be fairly important to him -- this guy wouldn't go out without him, couldn't survive without his trusty canine. If the dog has saved his life or something that would perfect.

If you know of anyone that would fit the bill-- please let me know- we're in production now-- so availability would be 'asap.'

Thank you!

Classic!

We are in production now...just need the primary person (and pooch)!

If my dog and I applied they'd probably laugh at us. You won't find a more abled dog around though when it comes to outdoor survival. He's done just about everything when it comes to the outdoors though from climbing mountains to paddling waterways.

and if it came to it he could do as a MRE. Just kidding!

lol , Discovery was at my Job a month ago wanting to do a piece...it was hard trying to explain you can't video this or that.... litigation / lawsuits etc etc. a show will not work here ,they dont take no well ....

my last dog would have been great for this... but the current one is still getting broken in and i haven't had her out in the boonies yet.

We try to include our dogs in all our family activities.
However, I don't think that either our old dog,

Or our new dog,

Would last too long shivering in an ice cave or sleeping on a home-made hammock:)

First picture caption for the dog on the left to the Chihuahua, "OMG!!! Did you see the size of that gator!!!"

Second picture caption, "Mexican Pot Roast"

Unfortunately, I could see touchy feely PETA peeps having a field day with this proposed show.

Sigh, if only it was a man and his guinea pig I would be all over this! :)

I have a cat and spend a lot of my free time at my apartment, do i qualify for this?

Man you should do it.... you got nothing to lose. It might be worth some bucks too.

The Chihuahua would be a winner..... I am serious too, BTW... :)

Go for it........

I'm in. They can watch me burn thousands of calories and trying to survive whilst chasing my little stooge Moose through the woods. No saw is required for shelter materials, he will chew through anything at ground level. Bear Grylls with a dog? What is Moose supposed to do while I'm swinging from trees and climbing waterfalls?

Holy crap Discovery must really get around! They contacted me and my company a few years back about a few times. I think one show was Dirty Jobs, another was a Modern Marvel show on new home construction.

RichK219 I think you've got a hell of a chance, lifejackets and all!!! All kidding aside they really look like some great dogs.
