How about a thread to support Herman. I read on one of his last auctions a few weeks ago, he is in poor heallth and may not be doing any more work this year.

Here's to an awesome craftsman, and a nice guy. Hope you get well soon Herman.

A Schrade 98OT Herman did in 2007. Let's see more of his great work.

great idea ----get well soon herman, cant wait to aquire some more of your customs, i know you'll be back in the shop soon!!

i bought the last knife he had on auction a couple of weeks ago and in the email he told me he had heart surgery. also that he was moving and would be building a new shop. based on my opinion he sounded like he was doing good. his work is special just like he is. a loyal schrade craftsman thru and thru. he told me once that he was one of 3 official schrade customizers and that the other two were of his senior and wasn't sure what had become of them. any special work of his was (and is now in my opinion) considered a genuine schrade product. it dont get any more schrade than that!!!!
i hope herman doesn't mind me divulging on his recent goings on. people who read this thread care about him and wish him a speedy recovery. ----brady

Here is a pic of my 7 Williams knives, the pride and joy of my Schrade collection. Took the pic a while ago - not sure why the pearl scissors knife is in there, I don't think Herman did that one.

Nice knives Dave. That 876 pearl lobster is in some fine company. What patterns are the two knives with threaded bolsters?

He's one of the greats in my opinion, a fantastic cutler and a heck of a nice guy, makes you feel like an old friend when he answers an e-mail. It'd be a heck of an honor to meet him someday. Damned nice of you to start this thread Thawk, I bet he'll appreciate it. Dave, those are some beauts! I've got a feeling you beat me out of a few of those:mad::D. Here are a few additions:

Thawk, the threaded bolster ones are a 61OT (I really like that one :)) and a 96 pattern trapper. The trapper just says Schrade+ LTD on the tang though.

That filework is something, ea42!
