This is my only axe, a gift from my dad. After looking through this forum here I thought i'd share a few pics. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397160422.263100.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1397160438.110431.jpg

Thanks Patski! I've had it for about 4 years now, my dad gave it to me. He got it at a yard sale, i said it was cool and he told me to take it. I never saw one that small before. Started reading in this area recently and though i'd throw it up.

Collins and Norlund are the only two companies that I know of who made a saddle cruiser axe. Yours sure is sweet and was most likely made by one of them for Herters.

Also, Plumb. I hung one for a friend that belonged to his father. I was quite envious.

Thanks for the info guys! Saddle cruiser axe? I'll be google'ing that here shortly! Are those good companies as far as collectibility?

Real cute-looking little fella! I'd be hard put to know what to do with one of these in practice but for sure would feature it prominently on a display wall somewhere. What little use I have for hatchets in general is further negated by the absence of a poll on your 'baby'. No matter; even land surveyors would have enjoyed this little gem during the era before power saws came out in order to clear 'line of sight' views without having to lug a full size limbing or felling axe around.

Those saddle axes are quite popular among collectors. They always fetch a good price on that auction site.

I have a Herters axe like that. It has Herters Wauseca stamped on the handle. It was made by Collins.
