I bought a dpx hest 2.0 from BladeHQ last Friday after a lot of usps delays I finally got my knife and today it has been gathering a little vertical play and a very weak detent. I can lightly shake the blade out. and I really don't want to go a few weeks without a edc blade! Any advice ?

Hard to say what the issue may be without seeing it. [random thoughts] It could be that the lock bar just needs to be bent farther inward, which might address both detent and lock up, though that's not for certain. On the other hand, the detent could be an issue with the stop pin keeping the blade from going far enough into the handle for the ball to fully engage the hole in the tang (I've seen this on a couple cheaper folders in the past). This isn't as easily user addressable and requires something like modding the stop pin itself or taking some steel off the part of the tang that touches the stop pin in the closed position with a diamond needle file. [/random thoughts] In any case, I'd say this is unacceptable in a knife at this price. I wouldn't mess with it. I'd send it back for replacement. I know it sucks to have to wait weeks, but you'll come out ahead in the long run. BladeHQ has great customer service, so no worries there.

Good just be a case of the pivot coming loose. That would cause both of those problems. I would try tightening the pivot before returning it if you're up for it

Didn't think of that. I hope it's that simple. Good idea.
