Hest pre order questions.

Hello everyone. Just asking a few questions to make things easier for me (and maybe some fellow ESEE followers that read this1) when the ordering opens.

How will the pre order process work?
Will we be able to prepay?
If so, what are our payment options? (So I can have my info ready)
Will I be able to find the order tab on the DPX site or his store?(just to clarify)

I hope I haven't asked a bunch of already answered questions. If so, I apologize and ask for for directions to the answers. I hope this will help others who want to get their hands on one of the numbered pieces as bad a I do!

along with a few thousand others I'm sure. :)
 
of course someone knows something - they're just waiting until after their order is in before telling anyone else!

It's just gonna be pure chance anyway...like playing the lottery.
A few lucky ones will win. Oh well, it'll be good fun anyway, no matter what.
 
I've heard references of vendors taking advance orders, but of the ones I visited (linked from ESEE site) none even mentioned the HEST folder.

Anyone have links to vendors taking advance orders now?

ANSWERS

How will the pre order process work?

- If you want a numbered knife with the special goodies you go to www.dpxgear.com on Tuesday and follow the instructions.
The limited edition, first fun model will be available early December and in addition to a numbered knife will also include
a cool aluminum HEST case that you can use to put yer survival crap in or use as a display case,
a special collectible MR DP tool, leather case for the tool that will also hold a standard 1/4" firestarter and sharpener,
a signed and numbered certificate



- If you want a regular DPx H•E•S•T Folder you go to any of the dealers that we have listed here and tell them you want a damn knife. Depending on how many they have pre-ordered they may take your money or they may refer you to someone else.


Will we be able to prepay?

-the dpxgear site will tell you how and when to pay
-the dealer will have his own financial requirements

If so, what are our payment options?

- since there is no rush I am sure there will be the usual list of electronic and analog options.

Will I be able to find the order tab on the DPX site or his store?

- I don't know what an order tab is

- Chris it never hurts to ask first rather than complain afterwards!

Just to recap, there is plenty of time to pre-order, numbered knives will go fast and we will do our best to make the process orderly and fair.

The MSRP price for the numbered knife is the same as the dealer MSRP even though it has a lot more stuff with it. The numbered knives are going on sale for $249 and the regular run knives will be under $200. What the dealer wants to discount is up to him but I think in the beginning they will hit the streets for around $180 and then climb up as supply dries up. I don't know what European, Latin American, Asian or African prices will be but the MSRP is $250ish because its a hell of a lot of knife even at that price.

We are trying to estimate the right run amount and trying to provide plenty of value even on the numbered limited edition knives. That's why we add all the limited run goodies.
 
Alright! I'm so excited. I really wanted one until I saw the dp scull all over it. Now I HAVE TO HAVE IT.!!! Man, I love this knife already. IF I get a numbered one I'm going to HAVE TO buy someone's numbered fixed HEST! Thanks for the info Mr. Pelton. Good luck everyone.

that's the spirit, eloreno! Me too...and I stopped at the liquor store...so I can celebrate my victory or if I don't get one...then the victory of others. Either way, I'm not at work and drinking. It'll be a good day. :cool:

I sent an email inquiring when it would be available and got this reply:

"Tuesday we should have information up on DPXgear.com and by Friday the signup list will be posted."
 
WOW! All those numbered editions must have gone fast! :eek: The web site already is back to looking like it did two days ago! No mention of the folders at all!
 
patience grasshopper....I will let you know when to go to the site.
