HEST question for big handed folks

I'm getting ready to do some Christmas shopping and I plan on buying several ESEE's for family and friends.

One friend in particular is a big fella and has fairly large hands.

How is the handle on the HEST? It looks like a roomy handle for a short bladed knife but I can't be sure from the pictures.

Do any of you bigger folks have HEST's? And if so, how well does the handle fit your hand?

I would consider my hands to be medium large, and im not a fan of the hest handle, the little prybar on the bottom rubs my pinky finger. ive thought about cutting it off i just havent yet.

Some guys here have Sasquatch mitts, but I'm 6'2" and the HEST fits me perfectly... still a little room, even. It's just a great, great knife, IMHO.

Full grip (both hammer and saber grip) I still have about 1 finger width between my pinky and the pry-bar. If I was wearing gloves it would be less, of course, but still comfortable.

I wear size "L" gloves, FWIW.

Gotta agree here. My mitts aren't huge but the HEST fits perfectly in them. Look at it this way, if you get the knife and don't like it, it won't take long to sell it here.

Im a man of large hand and foot, and the HEST fits perfect. Which in all seriousness did surprise me...I would argue, its one of the most comfortable handles I have come across for such a tight package.

I echo this statement. I'm 6'7", 260lbs, size 14 shoe, and the HEST handles are super comfortable. This is one of the reasons I have taken to it so completely. For a small fixed blade, the ergonomics feel like a much larger one. No fingers dangling off the handle or pinched tight spots.

I would say, buy with faith. The handle should fit him well.

Here are some pics I took of the passaround knife.

My hands are about 4.8 inches wide. This knife feels pretty roomy in the hand.
I've never had them both at the same time to compare, but if i recall the HEST correctly, it felt roomier than the ESEE 3

Here is a comparison pic with a common knife, a mora clipper.
The handles are very similar in size and shape.
