Just so I see if I understand this... the limited edition has serial numbers and is kind of exclusive.. but in or around August, a main production run will be made?

Can I take that to mean, the non serial numbered HEST knives will be added to the RAT line up for the forseeable future?

Second question, What will the differences be? Only cosmetic? Will it still have the RYP thing on it?

And finally, how does the HEST compare to say the RC4??

One more... sorry. Can anyone give the cutting edge blade length? THANKS... I see the over length is 7 5/8. Cant seem to find the blade length!

To me what it means is that after my limited HEST will come in, I will be ordering another from the production run. The addiction mandates it.:D

Honestly, I doubt it would be much different quality or function wise. In all seriousness, I will likely order a regular one, so this can go on display and I can beat the crap out of the non limited one. My guess is that will be the main difference for me.

I think Jeff and arijer pretty much covered it. From what I understand, the first production model of the HEST will be the same as the RYP version minus the number, signature, and image on the handle. Plus it won't come with RYP's book. So I think the differences will be strictly cosmetic. I'm pretty sure the production model wont be available for sale until the 250 RYP versions are all sold.

RYP also said that there will be three more versions of the HEST following the first production model. The second will have a military theme, the third will be bigger, and the fourth is a surprise.
 
We should be shipping the regular HEST knives (without serial #, without the book, etc.) when we return from Colombia the first part of August. We are sold out of the remaining 250 from the 500 piece first run. RYP got the first 250, dealers have already bought the second 250 that we will ship when we return. We have another 500 going through the laser now.
