Hewing hatchet i.d

I got this head recently & have found a very faint makers mark that is difficult to read, I wonder if anyone recognizes the script.

Unfortunately I can't make anything of the marking. The general form is showing mass production origins for universal application and is widespread in Europe from north to south. I mean you can be proud of the extream minimalism embodied here and thankful that at least it is somewhat polled.

The exception is that cute pouting heel feature, destined to be ground away anyway.

So that will make it an Axe not a Hatchet then?

Another possibility that C crbnSteeladdict pointed out is that the script could be "Sutterlin", a style used in Germany in years gone by.
