Just wanted to share a project im working on.

The bottom hex cutout works on 1/4" screwdriver bits. The top cutout is more for looks but it does function and works on bolts with a .43" head.

Im hand filing the bevels. Heat treat will be done by Peter's Heat Treat. They will be getting stonewashed once complete, they will have secure kydex sheaths and can easily go on a keychain as well. They are about 3.4" long from the highest point at the tip of the cutting edge to the bottom of the handle, and about 1.4" wide at widest points of the head.

Made of .156" thick 52100

Let me know what you guys think!!

They have a nice amount of cutting edge for their size.

They can easily go on keychains and in Altoids sized survival tins.

After acid etch, stonewash, and final edge is put on.

EDIT TO ADD - APRIL 2015

The "evolution" of the Hex Hawk to date

The far left is the "prototype" i guess you can call it. The start of it all. I did this one all by hand with files, hacksaw, and a drill press. Its never been heat treated.

Next is one from the first batch. I stonewashed this one 3 times just playing around and seeing how the finish would turn out. Never put a final edge on this one.
3rd is also one from the first batch. And its the one i EDC. Notice on the 2nd one the bevel stops before the beard but on this one the bevel goes up further. I modified this one with a file. I wanted to make the hex hawks cut better, more slicey, so i thinned it a bit, raised the bevel, and that did the trick!! Also gave it a 2 tone appearance that i like.
4th is from the Vintage Series. Noticed i incorporated the higher bevel into the new batch.
5th is media blasted with the higher bevel, heat treated but never finished.
6th is a finished Black Oxide version.

You are really thinking outside the box here, and I like it, it looks like a handy little multi-tool. If you could just incorporate a bottle opener too.:D:thumbup:

The bottom hex cutout works on 1/4" screwdriver bits. The way the cut is done the bit will not slide all the way through, or slide up and down in use, the bit goes in 1 way only and sits in enough to use it but not enough to where your trying to hold the bit steady and turn the hawk. The top cutout is more for looks but it does function and works on bolts with a .43" head.

I'm so pissed that I missed the chance for one.

Thanks man!! Really i never intended this to be a multi-tool... The design just looked cooler with hex cutouts than circles IMO... So i decided to make them functional cutouts LOL

I'm so pissed that I missed the chance for one.

I apologize about that bud, They went faster than i could of imagined. I love the design personally but i didnt think they would do as good as they did honestly. I was worried making 20 was too much. After the first hour or 2 i listed them on a social media site i had to start taking 5 dollar deposits just to get an accurate list of who wanted them and weed out the people that werent serious. 18 hours in and all the ones i had planned to sell but 2 had deposits on them, i saved 2 that i had planned on listing on BF for sale once i finished them... But they went quickly after showing the WIP pictures.

Due to the interest i will be running a 2nd batch. I just have to figure out how many to do this time.

Thank you for the interests HK!!

I love it, but then again I seem to have an affinity for all things small and sharp.
