My son lives in Casa Grande,AZ. He has been bugging me to move out there for years now. Helen would move tomorrow, the best part of living out there would be that my Daughter-in-Law could help me take care of Helen.
I told him to get me some prices on a couple of acres near Casa Grande.
Now my questions, what type of problems I would have setup up my shop????? Would I need a business license, zoning problems????:confused:

I've been there a bunch with my 5th wheel. Can't answer your questions, but I know building and land prices are climbing fast. A few years ago was the time to buy there. It's gone from 8,000 resisents to 40,000 in just a few years. Also it gets hot;)

I live in Tucson AZ and I'm pretty sure you'll need to get a license and check the zoning where ever you go in AZ. You should contact the Chamber of Commerce and maybe even the county recording office or City of Casa Grande to find out if there are any ordinaces against what you have planned.
You'll probably have a hassle with permits and inspections for your building if you start from scratch but no more than anywhere else.
Good luck with the move if you do it

I have been talking to my son today. He is getting prices for the land ( at least 1 acre) and the house.
He is a partner in a fire and safety company. He is a master electrician also and has allot of connections in the contractor area. We would be splitting the house. It would have 5 to 6 bedrooms ,3 baths and 2 1/2 stall garage.
He is looking for property that is butted up to a farm or ranch.
The garage would be AC'd and the smithy would be opened. The hot weather wouldn't bother me and Helen would love it because she is cold on a day that is 80 degrees.:D;)
PS: All of you would have a open invite to my shop. I would have a Grand Opening Party too.

If you make that move, we will want to see you on a horse asap, with the big ugly hat on your head. Can you say cowpoke?:D

I was in Phoenix in the 70's. It was a sleepy little town then.

My wife is a GMAC real estate agent. Actually, she is the vice president of the company, the relocation director and she is a director on the Washington State Board of Realtors. Can you tell that I'm proud of her? She's an awesome agent.

She has contacts all over the country because of her relocation expertise and would be able to help you find a great real estate agent in AZ and in the area that you're currently living in. She'd be able to help you find just the right person to sell there and to buy where you'd be moving to.

You can email her at lindaickes@comcast.net if you want some help.

Happy to hear that you got qualified for the loan today in AZ. I just hope you can sell your home with the market being down on homes. Please let us know how all going.

Well George you would only be 3-400 miles away then. I might get off my dead ass and come visit you.

We are short on clam bake material in the SW, but we have been known to burn a pig once in a while along with some peppers and even drink one or two beers...

They won't understand a thing you are saying.

I talk to you regular and I can't understand you half the time:D.

Get you a big hat and some flash cards before you hit the road.

LF------he hehheeeeeeee

Leatherface, I know how you feel.:eek: I didn't think that you even knew the English language.
I have the attire all set for the move. I have been wearing cowboy boots for over 25 years and have 6 pairs, Tony Lama's and Justin's. I have at least 8 cowboy hats.:D
PS: I also have the Bowed Legs too. HEHEHEHE!!! But it is a steel horse that I ride.

They're going to insist you start wearing something under your chaps, though. No more of that Village People stuff.

is this the same son you posted pictures of with knots on his head after both of you had a little father son boxing match?
