Hey Benchmade, how about an assisted 710?

The benchmade assisted axis mechanism is kind of a large mechanism. The scales of the 710 are much too thin to contain it. It would quickly become a very different knife if they tried to incorporate it.

So that's why my 580 Barrage is so much thicker. Still, it would be interesting to see a knife with as close as possible shape / dimension as the 710 but in an assisted version.

I think some classics should stay the same

The only thing that should be upgraded on that model is the steel, i.e., reg. production should let you choose between D2 & M390.

I know I'm biased because I'm not a fan of assisted models, but still ;)

I'm talking about an assisted version in addition to the regular 710, not replacing it. I agree on the steel choice thing. I wish M390 was a
regularly available option and not just a limited production run.

I don't understand why anyone would want to put assist on a knife that doesn't need it. None of the Axis knives need an assist.

Personally I think all assisted knives suck.

IMHO there is no need for an assisted 710. The 710 is already one of the quickest knives to deploy that Benchmade makes.
