I want an axis folder with s30v and titanium liners! I want the blade to be at least 3.5 inches and I want g10 scales! Also, and this is important, I don't want the knife to be a limited run. I think we would all like to be able to purchase a knife like this and not listen to someone tell us how great their number 178 is!

If you like this idea I think we should get some kind of petition together. Or, if you work for Benchmade and you read this, you should get off your a** and get buisy!

What would be the point of titanium liners in an Axis lock? The way they're lightened as it is, you would increase the cost without significantly decreasing the weight. And titanium isn't superior to plain old steel in this application anyway.

I do agree with you on the S30V, though. I wish Benchmade would use it in more of their knives.

Benchmade makes few axis knives longer than 3.5". The 710 in M2 steel is very close to what you want. They make few S30V axis locks too. The 921 is close, but is 3.4" and Aluminum handles. In fact, even including limited editions, I can only think of one that fits all your requirements: the Ares (730-735) were made in LE version with S30V, I think (may have been D2).

WAIT: the Ritter GRIP! Blade is S30v, Length is 3.44" (close to 3.5), handle is Noryl GTX (close to G10).

The Ritter Grip is a good choice. Unfortunately Noryl GTX is nothing like G10 structure or texture wise. My 733-01 is S30V, but it's got wood/CF handles, not G10.

I'm sure S30V will become more popular in the BM lineup over time - we'll just have to be patient, I guess.

i would love a 530 with s30v with full liners and g10 scales. or better yet a 530 with s30v and a ti frame. and affordable, i dont want to see another 400 dollar gold line limited model that doesnt even have a clip..

Benchmade needs to make some big folders, 4" and up! A big 5" blade of S30V and an Axis lock!?!?! I would be all over that.

Yeah, to me they seem to be moving towards using more aluminum handles and are still reluctant to use S30V very much.

Chris
