Hey Bighoss - here's your requestd pic!

paracord and a cute gun, what could be better?

oh yeah, a Becker

Nice to see you go it so quiclky. Whatcha think?
Initial impressions are very good, however due to a hand injury, I haven't been able to put it through its paces yet. I really like the blade size, shape, and weight. The grind on mine appeared even. The blade finish seemed pretty much identical to the Esee I recently fondled and was very even with no blemishes etc. The handles are just fine IMHO - they let me grip the knife well and aren't an annoying shape or anything..I really don't see why anyone complains about them or switches them unless its for style reasons. The blade wasn't sharp right out of the box compared to other knive manufactures that I have dealt with..not a big deal though since I guess I ended up with one of those glass filled nylon sheaths that will dull the crap out of it until an inside channel is cut out by the blade. Which brings us to the sheath - while I like the retetion a lot, I think pretty much everything else about it sucks. I have a coworker that does very nice custom leather sheaths/holsters as a side business who is going to do a sheath for me that is exactly molded to the blade with a nice large outer pocket for a small stone, wire saw, fire starter, etc for $50.

HA! only if you are a boy scout (and even then we seem to lose a ton of them in our mountains). Honestly, it would be to many people's benefit if we had some courses like that for adults that weren't ridiculously expensive. It seems like most of them around here are $1k+. While $1k is a small price for your life, its also a price tag that many utah families can't handle. It seems like every year we have plenty of adults that go off for a day hike, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, etc then go missing - sometimes they are found a few days later dead from exposure, sometimes they are never found. Our Uinta mountain range seems to be the most notorious for this since the forest is very dense, and it rains/snows almost every day up there. I've been caught in snowstorms in July and August while hiking up there.

when I live in san diego the sierra club did a wilderness class, maybe your local could do the same thing :-)
what part of utah ??? I'm a little south of there LV nevada .

I knew you'd like the Grivory, I know I do. However, cutting and chopping will be the real deciding factor, then you will know for sure.

We will need pics of that sheath when its done, cool?
