I have a 2000 commander ,and have taken it apart twice . Both times , the grip panel screws have stripped . What is up ? Am I doing something wrong or have you had a problem with the screws ?

To elaberate further , I love the commander , and carry it often . I take it apart to get gunk out of hard to reach places . I have polished the contact points , and smoothed the grip panels .This last time I took it apart , the threads on the screws stripped . The first time this happened John Hollister sent me a few screws , but with this happening agian I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong , or if this a manufacturing problem that I haven't heard about.

Hi Edd,

I have not heard of this as an ongoing problem. The only reason that I can think of for this problem is the fact that there are so few threads on the small screws on the handle slabs.

Thes "extra" screws have been eliminated from the newes generation of Commander.

If you can give me a call or shoot an email with your mailing address to info@emersonknives.com, I will get a set of slab screws off inthe mail to you.
