Here's the link to the site that I got my info. from
www.botanik.unibonn.de/conifers/taxa.htm
Hopefully, the thing will magically turn colors. I haven't found any listing for a type of Taxus indigenous to Spain besides T. baccata. It certainly doesn't mean that I didn't miss something, but ... If you check out Spiraltwista's post what is beginning to emerge, I believe, is the effect of differing environments on the same plant. The British Isles, in general, provide a great environment for plant growth. It's not too hot, or cold, and there is plenty of moisture. The same plant grown in Norway, or a Spanish mountainside would perform differently. Sometimes these differences can be vast. Still, it is the same plant genetically.

There's nothing better than a good history class! I'd be glad to wait a while. What specific courses are you taking now? I've had to get through some long ugly papers myself;)

I am picking my way through papers relating to medieval and early modern history. This has included Art History, Anthropology and English (Chaucer). All this has come after about 7-8 years as a re-enactor and historic combatant.High point being the Battle of Hastings 2000 in the UK.(Also got married, In Scotland on my wifes ancestral land).
