Hopefully, the thing will magically turn colors. I haven't found any listing for a type of Taxus indigenous to Spain besides T. baccata. It certainly doesn't mean that I didn't miss something, but ... If you check out Spiraltwista's post what is beginning to emerge, I believe, is the effect of differing environments on the same plant. The British Isles, in general, provide a great environment for plant growth. It's not too hot, or cold, and there is plenty of moisture. The same plant grown in Norway, or a Spanish mountainside would perform differently. Sometimes these differences can be vast. Still, it is the same plant genetically.
