Please join me in welcoming Mark Terrell. Mark just joined our merry band of pirates a few weeks ago. Mark is a personal friend of mine and has been a full time maker for 4 years but has been grinding out blades since he was a kid.
I think several qualities make a good custom knife maker.
1. Wide use of materials.
2. unique design
3. versitile mix of blade designs
4. Wide use of different steels for knife making.
Mark fits all of these categories. Maybe Mark can jump in on this thread and answer what his influences are in his craft. However I feel that Mark has a unique twist to his designs and grinds that develop a plethora of Blade styles from simple EDC type knifes for hunting and fishing and general outdoor use to Self Defense style blades for covert and concealed carry to some Just dam nice Art pieces...here are a few pictures from my personal collection that Mark has made...some of these pics have been posted before so bear with me..
First is a Mark Terrell Three Finger Cleaver in Horn with S30V
Second is a set of knives..a Two Finger Cleaver and a Three Finger Cleaver in Translucent G-10 in S30V
Next is a family shot starting at top and moving clockwise..
1. MT Hangnail Kerambit..double edge with Black G-10 on S30V
2 another shot of the Three finger cleaver
3. MT Lancet..a nasty sharp little sticker...in Black Micarta on 154CM
One of my favorites...Marks version of the WWI Trench knife that he calls the "Crowd Pleaser" This particular one is made of S30V and on black G-10 it is pictured with my Kel-Tec Pistol Grip AR-15
Next is a MT WSK..one big nasty sharp mo-fo...photo by Jason Richmond..the knife in the picture is covered in pine sap from a kindling smashing session...razor sharp..as my thumb knows from the injury I sustained...
Last but not least is my MT Tactical Boot in High Polish with F22 Carbon Fiber..awesome knife..
These are only a few of Marks Knife designs as he also does folders....but you get the picture....
Welcome my friend...glad your here..
