Damn, it's getting more and more difficult every month to come up with an "Eye Catching" announcement for our monthly NJKCA meetings!! But, that time is here again. Next Sunday, March 20th, is the next scheduled meeting of our illustrious group. Come and hear the wit & philosophy of Esav, the Photo-Chops of K.V. Collucci, not to mention the verbal attacks heaped on Ron LaBella, and view pieces of some of the finest collections in NJ. All this has to be well worth the price of admission - especially since it's FREE!!!
But seriously, our little group has grown substantially over the past couple of years. What started out as six or seven guys drinking, eating, displaying knives, and just generally BS'ing about knives and anything else that might come up has progressed very nicely into its' present format. We have no dues, no officers, no minutes taken, and no formal structure. What we do have is a bunch of guys & gals who share a common interest - knives - of any kind. Each month, our members and visitors, bring interesting pieces from their collection. This gives others a chance to not only see what these knives are like, but to get some hands-on feel of some very impressive Customs. But, that's not what we're all about! We also display some very fine and interesting production models. Ever think about buying a Benchmade 630, but weren't quite sure of the ergonomics or the actual size? Come to one of our meetings, and you might get a chance to try one out first hand. Want to just enjoy a Sunday, talking knives over a couple brews (either beer or coffee)? This is the place for you. And, if you want to enjoy a lunch, along with all the above, the Steak & Ale provide a fine selection - even if you just want to visit the Salad Bar.
OK Here are the details. We meet every third Sunday of the month at 1:00 PM at the Steak & Ale on Route 1 South, between the Woodbridge Center Mall, and the Menlo Park Mall. Since March 20th is the third Sunday of March, that's where you'll find us. The management give us our own section in the back of the restaurant, and no one gets upset over the knives that we display. Yes, Virginia, there is a "Knife Friendly" venue in NJ!!!
I hope to see some new faces next Sunday!
