OK, I've alluded to having been working on a website for some time now. It's time to come out of the closet... ;)

Mods, I KNOW I am stepping on the edge with this post, so toss it if it's wholly inappropriate. This particular forum is sooooo related to what I love and am doing, that I wanted you, my buddies, to see what I have been working on... (BIG Thanks if you let it slide.)

I'm only one of a few folks directly involved in the build. Martyn Cooper (BritishBlades.com's creator)completely designed and created all of the hard inititial layout, and deserves a BIG hand for the clean easy navigation. :D I did the text, picture layout, and misc stuff, and Pekka Saarinen from Denmark made his photo gallery image software (Exhibit Engine) available to us and helped with some of the technical stuff.

I am told that certain browsers (Netscape?) have a hard time with the Galleries. Please give me your viewing impressions. If this is not working, I am going to need some further help that Martyn can't help me with at this time. I may not be able to straighten anything out for a while, so bear with it. It works fine for me on MS IE 5.5.

There is a LOT of stuff going on in there, so don't get lost. Mostly pics of custom knives, if you are so inclined. ;) I chose my words carefully for each section to best convey how I view these things...

The gallery software allows YOU to change the viewing parameters: Micro, thumbs, 80% images and full-size. It's pretty cool! :)

So, click on my new banner below, and have a look. Get some idea's for your own work, wish me good luck, and please let me know....

Cool! I hope the mods don't bump it, a link belongs here in the Gallery. I had no problem with the galleries, on IE 6.0. I like that you give multiple image qualities, so those with broadband like myself can look at the big ones and those stuck on dial-up don't have to suffer either. It's on my favorites now.

Great work, Coop! I've always enjoyed good pictures of nice knives, and you site certainly has them!

Well thought out and very easy to navigate through.

Super site Coop !

Congrat's ! :)

Just a few clicks deep at the moment. Your page seems to work fine in Opera. It's a mozilla based browser and is as close to w3c spec's as you can get. I'm pleased to see such an elaborate site that doesn't use IE specific crap. It's clean, has enough bling to stand out but no so much as to be annoying. Nice work.

Coop, congrats on the site....First class job...I will be contacting you soon to schedule some pictures of my knives.

Lookin' good Coop! That's a first-rate job - in other words, exactly what I would have expected of you. I wish you much success my friend!

Guys, thank you all for the real nice comments.

So far there has been minimal trouble loading, but it is best with broadband for sure. It's a bit heavy.

Hey, tell me if you get to my 'Contact Information' page and if it has my address, etc. For whatever reason this page came up blank on my laptop repeatedly at work, but at home it loads quick and with the correct info. Huh???

John, I would LOVE to have an opportunity to work with you--when you are ready. Thanks for the thought.

Later,

Coop

Very, very nice. I'm using an oddball browser on an oddball OS (Galeon on Linux) and it still runs just fine. Even the pop-up menus work, which is rare. I like the way the gallery is set up. Nice work. :D

Coop, that is an excellent website, buddy. Very intuitive. I love a site that is easy to get around and one that has lots of great pictures. Yours fits both criteria.

By the way, I posted a picture of a Michael Connor dagger in that thread in the Custom Knife Forum where you posted that you couldn't find any pictures of his work.

Hey Coop-

Great site!

When you first posted about this over in the CKDforums I checked it out and did indeed have some trouble viewing using Netscape. That seems to have been cleared up.

I can't tell you how often I've checked out your collection in the past year, looking for embellishment ideas. There are so many different types and styles...what a feast for the eyes. You have such a great-looking group of knives...a testament to your good taste ;) Now it's a real pleasure to be able to so much more easily navigate through them all.

Photography as always is as good as it gets!

Yeah Baby!

PS. Oh yeh, the kits aren't too bad either :D

Incredible. Everything I looked at worked fine. I got caught up in the knives, though, so ... :D

Beyond beautiful. The photography is just the best. You really did the knives justice.
