The other day I got talking to Mike Craddock of North Carolina and he was kind enough to offer to send me a knife that he had finished up for a customer early. Well I came home from seeing Bill Bagwell and I was pleasantly suprised to see a package at my door. Well as soon as I opened the package and saw the coffin style wood box he had packaged the knife in I knew this guy was serious. The lid was screwed on even. Well I opened the knife and was very impressed with Mike's fit and finish. I think his ladder pattern damascus is done well and his grinds are very nicely done. I love the stag and I think the guard is done well and the knife has a nice feel for this size blade. You all know I like bigger blades this one is 6 inches and I do not really care for recurves so This knife has to be nice for me to like it as much as I do. In a few months I think I might order a similar blade from Mike with a longer blade and not so much recurve and with a sharpened clip. All in all I think Mr Craddock makes a great knife with a more than fair price and I think he is going to be someone to keep an eye on. Thanks for looking and excuse my pics they do not do this knife enough justice. By the way Mike is a super nice guy and real easy to talk with you can reach him at 336 382 8461
I am sure Mike would apreciate your comments so here's the knife. Thanks Mike for shareing your work.

I like recurves very much and this one looks terrific. glad you were able to view it and present the image to the group. Nice job overall.

I agree with both Keith and Joe in that Mike's grinds are impressive and a well executed ladder pattern, however the recurve is a little too aggressive for me. Fit/finish very tight.
Like the take down styling, very nice stag and the spacers are a nice touch. I see a very strong Jerry Rados influence.

Nice photos Joe.

The knife flows very nicely and the stag has great color and texture. Some nice pics too Joe!

Looks really nice! I like the steel, stag, and takedown style. Recurve is indeed aggressive and I like it.

I also like my knives a bit bigger. If the blade was 2 or 3 inches longer it would be perfect for my tastes. Having said that, I really like this knife.

JP...my wife has been after me to ask what breed your dog is. We think he's great! Dogo?

WOW. Impressive knife! When I see that grind I think "Walter Brend".

Beautiful materials, and judging from the pics very nice fit & finish. I would love to see this one up close!

Kind regards,

Jos

Jack and Tuco are fantastic! I had to ask and if I was to risk hijacking a thread I thought it best to do it on one you started :)

Pics are cool, thank you!

The edge seems like it might be a little thick, a common trait of newer stock removal makers....nice design, though, I'll be watching for this name...damascus looks quite well done.

No problem I get side tracked easy Fish, Dogs, Hunting it's all good:thumbup:

The aggressive drama of the blade design and the bold
grinds are what I really like about this knife.

The Dogo and its mirror image :) are amazing too!

All the best,

Mike was kind enough to do a priliminary sketch of maybe a future project for me what do you guys think thus far. All input welcome

I like it. Since you aren't much of a recurve guy, a little sliver taken off the belly might be more to your liking?

Joe this is like I said a quick sketch of a possible project and I am open to any and all suggestions and I think Mike is also so keep posting your thoughts guy's Thanks again Joe
