John asked me to post this email to help me figure stuff out. I like the look of the anniversary but it looks a bit small. I like more of a curvy form fitting handle than a straight handle, don’t like the handles too long either. I like the blade shape of it too.
I fish. Bass and trout, no salt water. I do tent camping but also like building shelters for fun. Hunting, just turkey and the occasional small bird. I do a lot of hiking, off trails hiking. Around the house I’d be cutting open mail, rubber hoses, whatever the girlfriend needs cut lol, cardboard, carving sticks. Open up blister packs. But I mainly want one for outdoor use. I use a spyderco sharpmaker to sharpen so I’d hope it could get an edge back with that. I do not baton, I think it’s ridiculous haha, I own a hatchet and believe it’s worth the weight. I will want to carry it around, I really don’t care what people think. I ride a bicycle a lot so a kydex sheath may be in order even though I love leather. I don’t know much about kydex though. The strongest steel I own is 154cm. I like a knife to have the looks, but more so functionality. I like it to be fatter in my hand, but not so fat my fingers can’t touch. I have large, but not huge hands. Jimping I’ll accept, but it’s not a deal breaker. I sometimes like to be able to choke up on my knife and grab some handle/blade. I like the shape of your blades how theyre more rounded towards the front, I own a lot of clip point blades. I like a strong tip. I wish I could draw for you but im a horrible artist and have no idea what to design. I too would like to make knives for others, but have no idea what I’d want myself lol. Thanks for your patience.----sorry if its out of order im posting from my ipod touch and its a hassle to edit. Thanks for the help before hand.

SuzikiGS750EZ and I have been emailing back and forth about what model would be a good one for him, so I asked him to post about it here. You guys always have good suggestions, let`s help him out. It must have a blade under 4".

So do you just want an anniversary knife with a longer blade and a curvy handle? Blade length is your issue because I think 3 inches is just about perfect for just about anything. I have a 4 inch Swamp Rat and it's a great knife I just don't need that extra inch. I might have a handle drawing I can load up and you could just have stomper put his blade to it. The top one is basically a trace of my swamp rat handle that I "fixed" and I think it's a pretty full grip as long as you have 1/4" thick scales put on.

3" Anniversary. Definitely. Just bought one from John. PERFECT knife.

Keep em comin guys, i like the ideas but i haven't seen the perfect one yet. I love the wharny but i don't think that meets all my needs, but i do need to get one into my collection! I like the one Mr. Sogetsu sent but theres something i can't put my finger on about it that i don't like. I'll look around to try and help you help me. Thanks though!

Maybe a 3 3/4" blade version of my old Tank model? Handle is about 4" long, and blade is 1 1/4" tall. I could do it in 1/8" thick stock instead of 3/16".

i LOVE that knife. That is thee knife. Can you do the handle style of the anniversary with a 4" blade of the tank? What colors do you have? Would you be able to stamp my initials into the blade (looks better than a dremel, with a knife as nice as that i want it to be MINE.

Do you mean a 3 1/2" handle like the Anniversary EDC? As for micarta colors, I have maroon, green, black, red, tan, and aqua. You had to ruin my surprise of initials! I ordered a set of letter stamps because another guy asked the same thing! I was going to offer it on my knives. Email me your handle choice along with your name and address, and brief description of the knife you want. (I`m old and forgetfull ) That would be $130.00 with sheath (leather?) and shipping.

How's this sound guys? 4” blade the same style as the tank. handle to be 4.5”.Kydex sheath? I dunno if I have to run or ride my bike or anything where im bending and moving around I don’t want it to fall out.dark green micarta. Thumb Serrations, solid pins, red liners. I like the tiger stripe maple a lot too.

5/32” blade. Tank design, I like the drop on the blade. Maple burl handle with blue liners, brass solid pins. Leather sheath, high rise? I want it to be able to slip under my sweatshirt and retain the knife but not be in the way when I sit down. Thumb serrations, 01 steel. 4” blade with 4.5” handle designed like the anniversary. Initials as C.M.W..

ordered. sound good?

Do you guys think a knife with a 4" blade and a 4.5" handle would look stupid? I couldn't really decide on a length so i grabbed my griptilian. I want a handle that fits my whole hand, like my puma white hunter. That handle fits me perfectly. What size do you guys get for handles? When i grab my swiss tool handle my pinky comes to the 3.5 mark but the bottom of my palm comes to 4.5. Help!

No. They are close enough that it would be hard to notice. If that is what is comfortable/fitting then get it.

I don't really know. I mean, i haven't really ever used a fixed blade. I've dealt with production folder handles because i had to. I honestly don't know what i'd like in my own knife. If my pinky comes to 3.75" and the back of my palm towards the butt of the knife comes to 4.5 how big should the handle be? Like i said, folders get sucked into my hands, but i don't use them like i plan on using this one.

For a knife to feel right to me I need a handle at least 4 1/2" long, who cares how it looks.I sooner have a dumb looking knife that I love to use than a great looking knife that just sits in the drawer because the handle is too small !

Not that a yours would look odd anyway with a 4 1/2" but I'm just sayin !!!
