Hey guys need some with getting the Work Sharp Guided System

I already own the Spyderco Sharpmaker with the XF stones, I also own the DMT aligner with all the stones, XC, C, F, XF, XXF, I was looking at the Work Sharp Guided System with the upgrade kit, will this one offer anything different from what I already own? Will I get better and faster results using this one? Is it really that easy to use, because I can get decent edges on my sharpmaker more than the DMT, and I thought the DMT would give me a better edge but I just cant get it scary sharp,

The tricky word is quick, if you like quick then you won't like DMT or WE or EP, these system do work extremely well but requires a lot of patience to go through each grid thoroughly.

Sharp maker is quick but I find it only quick because you already have when there is already a consistent bevel angle at 15 or 20 dps, the upgrade kit only give you more rods to mess with and that means spending more time with each

I don't mind spending time, actually I like it, but will it perform better or give me some nice results?

I personally think the WorkSharp is better than the two systems you mentioned, if for no other reason you get a better freehand system, BUT there's no reason you shouldn't be getting great results with what you have now. No matter what system or equipment you use, a basic knowledge of what makes a knife sharp is needed... just asking, "will this give me better results" is not that simple.

That being said, the WorkSharp has everything needed to give you great edges, and as you get used to freehand sharpening, you can sharpen at whatever angle you want... you don't have to us the guides. It's well built, and like I said, with proper understanding of sharpening, will give excellent edges. Even just following the steps in the instructions should result in a shaving edge, as long as the edge is apexed.
