Its one of my first posts here, I've been a long time blade fan, but started wanting to up the quality of my blades recently. I've got quite a few knives, somewhere around 50 or so, ranging from cheap china knives I got at fleamarkets as a kid, to my most recent purchase of a Small Sebenza Insingo.

My question is, what are some good brands of traditional folders to add to my collection/carry rotation. I have a few Case knives, stockman, texas tooth picks. I also have a nice Boker Stag folder. I've heard good things about Great Eastern Cutlery, what are others I should check out for a high quality traditional folder??

I agree with eyedog. Also check out the copper dog by Ka-bar.

Rough Rider for a high quality folder to try a bunch of different patterns not available elsewhere at a very low price. The quality far exceeds what would be expected at their price point. (they get excellent reviews here, I only have 10 or so)
Every collection needs at least one Opinel, in carbon steel or stainless. Sizes 6 and above have the lock ring.

Welcome! Canal Street Cutlery and AG Russell have some nice offerings too, in addition to GEC and Northwoods mentioned above.

I've been happy with the knives Queen has been putting out. I'd definitely recommend checking them out.

Budget but good (imported): Rough Rider, Colt
Excellent value (imported): Victorinox (Swiss army knives)
Affordable US-made: Case, Buck (some Bucks are imported)
Higher end US-made: Queen, Canal Street (above Case and Buck, approaching GEC)
High end US-made: Great Eastern Cutlery
Premium US-made: Northwoods (made by Queen or GEC to the owner's spec and design)

++ GEC brands, Northwoods, Buck 300's, and Victorinox. And I like Case, but you're asking for other brands.
