It's 4:54 am, dark outside, 46 degrees. I'm in the shop. I have cutting oil on my face and dunk bucket water on my shoes. (I made that last part up) I've got the KMG running, that sucker will go 2200 feet per second...

Yesterday was a big day for me in the shop... getting closer on everything! I'll have a load of knives ready later this week.

I saw a thread about motivation in Shoptalk... I have worked almost 8 weeks now with 3 days off and can not be more excited about knives. Everything is going very well and I just can't wait to get more folders and new designs out there! :D
 
You are a monster, Daniel. Go get' em.

Knives are good. Last batch was a definite improvement. Clearing through them now and preparing for another, more refined batch.

Very nice! It is fun trying to make each one better. I just finished the 150th Ti Backpacker yesterday and found a way to make the inner chamfers smoother, it made my day.

Are you still looking for a mill? I just saw a video with a Grizzly that looked very nice... I hope all of that stuff is going well! :D
 
It's great when you get up in the morning and enjoy what you do, so many people just wake up and start feeling miserable because they have to go to work, is a great feeling when you look forward to the start of your day.

You're a lucky man Daniel. :thumbup:

I am taking tomorrow and Wednesday off. :D Sara and I are going to Creede, CO to celebrate our 11th anniversary. Our anniversary was yesterday but we wanted to go in the middle of the week.

Sara is about 7 months along now but we will still go look for some agates! I have a big collection of amethystine agate from Creede... aka Sowbelly agate because it looks a bit like bacon if you slab it. :D

Hey thanks! It is easy to stay motivated making knives. :D

The hard part is waiting between design time and make time... I am always so excited about each new one and improving the current ones.
 
Yeah, my goal is to get a Mini Mill installed by the end of Summer, and get my own HT setup by end of Fall. They feel realistic. Maybe. :P

You get that live 24/7 shop feed going yet? Like those night-vision feeds you see in safaris that spy on what lions do after dusk, haha.
 
Dang Dan, 3am I was up with a little crying kid, and all i wanted was my nice warm bed lol. You are dedicated brother....and your quality shows. Really looking forward to the folders as well.

hey I could do it in night vision! lmao A live feed would rule, you guys could see me grind buckets full of steel dust while rocking plaid pajamas and a full face respirator...
my neighbors must wonder!

Sounds good on the goals! I want that bigger mill soon and will hopefully report back.
