Razorback - Knives said:I have to work tonite then I'm on vacation. I plan on spending some time getting the mower ready for grass cutting and get in a little groundhog hunting. Mostly knife work next week. I've got several knives to finish, sheath work and the middle of the week going to fellow maker Glenn Smit's shop to heat treat some 5160 blades.

So what do you fellows have planned for this fine weekend? Myself; I'll be doing yardwork. :grumpy:
What no TreeRat shooting???????John Andrews said:I just finished mowing the yard, first time this year. It's about +70 here, and sunny. My sheath maker picked up a fixed blade here and headed home to do his work. After a good cool down, I am headed into the shop to cut some NS bolsters and do some shop cleaning so I can find some of my missing/misslaid stuff. Of course, you fellas are much more organized, hospital clean shop and everything in its proper place. Well, Dave Larsen's is, anyhow. You can eat off his shop floor, and even do brain surgery there. My wife wants to go fishing tomorrow, so she is twisting my arm to go. I guess I will give in. You can't argue with those Cherokees, let alone, a female one. My homie rock saw/polisher is sidelined for lack of a couple of parts, no problem. It will be powered by a belt driven step pulley and 1/2 HP motor. A hanging water drip bucket should do the lube because oil cooling is such a mess. My cheepo diamond blades should do the job. They are wet/dry blades and will have plenty of water for coolant. I have some mastadon ivory Dave so generously gave me that needs some attention this weekend. Any of you fellas ever do any ivory inlay with cave art animals scrimmed on the inlays? That's what I intend to do, anyhow. Y'all have a safe weekend, the beer is on IG!
