hey Jaxx, how about a photo comparing a regular Sarsquatch and that sick Bowie mod?

Funny...I've not taken any pix of them side-by-side so far...
I'll snap a few tonight in a bit and post 'em up here. :)

I'm looking forward to these pics. So far the right Squatch has eluded my capture, but I still love seeing them out in the wild.

I will work on better shots later... My camera's batts choked while shooting tonight and some of these aren't that great, but here's what I got so far...

The length of both are the same, but the variant's blade is slightly shorter in height. :) Also, the variant has a v-grind edge.

I'll add more later today if I can get better shots of them both.

If I hadn't sacrificed one of my Sarsquatches to have a folder made, I would have the same blade mod on mine. I'm still contemplating having it done to my one remaining Squatch. Beautiful Knife.

Here is one I did, only spent about an hour on it, as it was to be a user, planned to do a little more each time it needed sharpening, but alas, it is gone.....I am thinking of picking up another one to play around with.

awesome. that's exactly what I was looking for.

in some of the other group shots you'd posted it looked like more material had been removed in the conversion.

that's such a fantastic end result, and I'm not even into the natural handles most of the time but that's a winner... ;)

thanks a bunch.

That is one of the best looking Busses ever! How do the scales match up side to side? Thickness, color and pattern? Thanks Jaxx. :)

Jaxx,

allowed me the distinct opportunity to hold this knife at blade, it is awesome in the pics, but holding it is a experience, i will not forget, it has a awesome feel in hand. Everything about it is fluid and precision...

That is a stunning handle:eek: Ram's horn?

Thank you! Yes, it is ram's horn. :)

Thank you, too! I love this knife and am honored to own it. Thickness-wise, they vary somewhat... The palm side is a little thicker and has a bit of a natural palm swell while the front side is a little thinner and with no natural palm swell at all. As to symmetry, they're not really close at all except in the coloring of the horn...which is pretty close, and looks to be from the same piece or set (as a guess). Usually, symmetry is a pet nit-pick of mine, and I have declined to buy many a knife solely based on the handles not matching up...but when I picked this one up off the table at BLADE, it felt so good in the hand, with the smoother, less textured side against the palm and the 'front' side with the deeper grooves helping my fingers to "lock in" for a superior grip, that I didn't really even think (or care) about the scales not being very symmetrical and it is why I chose to get it a sweet sheath and designate it as a user. :) I haven't used it as of yet, but it will get to see action! :D

It is quite honestly one of the best ergonomically feeling natural material handled Busse knives that I've had the pleasure of holding to date.:thumbup:

Here's a pick of the other side...

Very, very sweet! Great idea DowntownDM and thanks for the pics Jaxx!

It's great the way the knife scales match a right handed user. You should use it!
