Dan has said that he would not let the hogs or rats beat him with the new blade 2011 releases and has said he will be the first of the 3 to throw out a new release, you up for the challenge :D

Dan yesterday also gave a headsup that the scrapizashi is going to be taken down from the site in a couple days!!!

I've visited the scrapyard site several times a week for months. I didn't know I wanted one until I read the takedown warning.

I'm hoping Jerry or Amy provides a takedown warning on the BJ

Thanks for the heads up on the scrapizashi! I only check the Scrap Yard forum every once in a while, so without your post I very well might have missed out. Just placed the order...

The scrapizashi is such an amazing blade. I have the Waki ans Scizzy and performance wise with Scizzy just blows it away. Its much faster in had and the low angle factory edge is much better than the waki. Also with an extra cord wrap it doesn't transmit much shock. I chopped down a ~7in diameter hard wood tree the other day then split 30 or so logs and it would still shave.

I put a hair popping edge on it yesterday and did some slicing, sliced cleanly through a coconut and goes through a gallon of water like it isn't even there.

Get one while you can! They are real performers!

I think that is the first head to head review of the two swords that I've seen here. Thanks! Especially interesting is your observation of the difference in the grind angle.

The factory edges are vastly different. The Scrapizashi's edge, or at least on the one I recieved, is thin, I don't have anything to measure it but it looks like roughly 22ish degrees on each side. I think the Waki rodent is closer to 32. Maybe it's just the two swords I received but the edges have made a world of a difference in slicing ability. I'm too scared to reprofile the edge on my Waki, I would cry if I messed up a $450 knife....

Also as beautiful as the G10 on the Waki is, it KILLS your hands to chop hard wood with it. I added a para cord wrap to the scrapizashi to give it more purchase in hand and it works great and absorbs alot of shock.

After using them both very extensively, I take the Scrapizashi into the woods and leave the Waki next to the bed.

the scrapizashi is now discontinued. Looks like the Dogs are in the lead on this one.
