Joe,
Just wondering about something for when Buck is up and running again. I am in the process of getting one of the first 881s, with the 2 washer set-up in the pivot. Just wondering if I sent it in if Buck would be willing/able to update the washers and tap the scales for the clip to go on the left side like on the new versions? Thanks!

I believe the washers are being done under warranty. The redrill on the clip is another issue. In the past Buck has been reluctant to do that type of thing. I have an old HTA I and wanted it driiled for a clip.
 
Thanks, guy! I wondered about the washers, but hoped for the clip. I just thought they might do it seeing as how later models had this as an option. If not I guess its alright but I was hoping to have the dual thumbstuds done too. Oh well, I hope Joe can give me an absolute answer. I don't necessarily see why they'd be reluctant to do this mod to THIS particular knife since they're set up for it now. I'll still cross my fingers!!

The washers can be done, however the clip inserts can not be added to your Scales. We get them from the supplier already machined with the inserts already there. The newer 881's come with the ambi thumbstuds and clips and are available just about everywhere.
