Apparently no one else is checking the other thread, so I thought I'd post a new one. Sorry for the short notice for those who aren't aware, but I thought I'd try to spread the word again.

We've been trying to plan a get-together for the local knife knuts this Saturday. The Power Plant in Parkville has been picked, and I don't have any idea who is still interested.

Benchmade is also going to be in town for The Outlaw's "Bad to The Bone" tour 2007. There's going to be free food, and entertainment. The Outlaw is just a couple minutes from Parkville at the intersection of I-29 and NW 64th street, next to the Hen House grocery store.

I was thinking maybe a quick bite to eat, and a brew or two, then head up there to check out the knives and stuff.

Anyway, please feel free to post in this thread, or email me directly at my hotmail address: ddorn777 at hotmail dot com. The forum email system always gets sent to my SPAM box.

If there are no takers, I'll just enjoy the day by myself. The Outlaw Party Girls will be around, so that should be just fine.

I'm going to have to play it by ear. Saturday I'm taking my mom to the airport after a two week stay. If I do show, I'll have my son (and maybe my wife and mom!) with me.

There's also a gun/knife show this weekend up by the airport, but i know I won't have the funds for that.

arg, too bad I got some stuff going on, I was going to be their wensday the 13th to do a show with Voltare at Davies Uptown.

Fun place.

Hey are there any good knife shops down in KC?

Today, we stopped my Micky D's for lunch on the way to the airport... We saw the (military) Hummer parked at the Outlaw and made plans to stop by on the way home. Then, as we were getting in the truck, the wife heard something. An Attack helicopter made two circles and LANDED in the small field just across the street from the Outlaw!! We watched for just a bit and headed to the airport.

Stopped on the way home and the copter was already gone.:( My son did get to sit in the back seat of the Hummer. We walked around for a bit,and went into the store, but both my wife and son didn't like the cigar smoke. We then talked to the Benchmade rep (one of them) and my wife fell in love with one of their knives. If I hadn't already gotten a high dollar backpack leaf blower for Father's day, I would have gotten a new blade

I stopped by while the Apache was there, and had some free BBQ and beer, as well. I talked with the Benchmade reps, and showed off a couple Limited Editions I have, and checked out all the cool knives. I saw the Benchmite II with the Outlaw logo, and had to buy one for the 25% discounted price. $28 for a nice knife, and I didn't have to feel bad about eating the free food!

We got to check out the Apache, and talk with the pilots. There were some posed pictures, and shortly after, they went through all the pre-flight checks, and took off. The boys really enjoyed that, well, I did too! We had to search the field for my wife's baseball cap, as it was blown away by the wash.

Overall, it was a great day.

Maybe next time, we'll have better timing.:D
