Wow!!!! you were not kidding....those packs are great....I am glad I bought 2, the one in my truck holds more and fits behind the seat much better. I cant wait to pack the other for my "boat trips"

Thanks again,

Paleo

:) They do seem to hold a heck of a lot for a sub 2000ci pack, don't they. They sell the folding sleep mats that fit in the pouch inside of the pack, but they're on back order. I prefered to use it for other things like my poncho's liner and some other flat gear.

Yeah they hold a ton of stuff, I put my poncho and a tarp in the pouch. What is the velcro piece on top by the handle for?

The only velcro on mine is on the inside of the pack and is for securing the top of the pouch closed.

I cannot figure out what what that velcro strip is either. I like the d-rings alot. With bungee cords or using paracord you can really load this baby up. Heavy duty everything. Paleo25, were yours like new also?

Ya know what, I just looked at mine again and there is a velcro strip near the loop. Just never paid any attention to it I guess. Or, because I'm going the way of the geezer, maybe I just forgot.:D

My thoughts are that it's for attaching some kind of cover over the bag. Maybe a snow camo cover for blending in during winter use. It also crossed my mind that maybe it's to hold their poncho or coat in place. One thing I do know is that it'll come in handy for somethin eventually.;)

Yeah, mine were in incredible shape, I will say that it is probably the best pack I own and I own a few...including Osprey Packs and Kelty. I cant wait to rig mine up for going on the river and island hopping.
