Resemblence

I totally see the resemblance..

They even copied the Gerber trademark on the blade!:jerkit:

(Edit isn't working for some reason)

Apparentally the "fake" picture was linked wrong, so it didn't show up. I thought you were comparing the Gerber knife to the picture that DID show up. Nevermind :F

Edit: Whoops, Keith beat me to it.

does gerber actually manufacture thier knives, or do they have them made elsewhere?

could possibly be that that company is sellin the extras to whoever.
or, if gerber actually manufactures it, they may be selling to other companies.

but i really dont know what im talkin about, so it could just be that gerber is gettin thier s#it ripped off, line for line in that design.

That Gerber has (they say) an AUS-8 blade so it's not a bad knife, the CCCC are 440 or 420 (or even less..400) so Gerber's getting arse reamed :D

Aw shucks. Gerber getting ripped off by copycat bunko artists? We should all feel REALLY sorry for them.

I mean, they're soooooo upstanding in the world of copyright and trademark doncha know. Gerber wouldn't stoop to such low levels or anything.....

Is it possible that Fiskars, Gerber's parent company, owns the labels who are making the Gerber "knockoffs"? Besides, who would want to "knockoff" a crappy Gerber design (if Gerber designed it) anyway? Maybe someday, if the "knockoff" mentality continues, which I sincerely hope it DOES NOT, we'll see "knockoffs" of "knockoffs".:thumbdn: :jerkit:

Best wishes,

Yeah, I think you guys might be right - some Chinese factory is probably making the same knives for everybody including Gerber.

Or... Gerber saw those knives were selling well and decided to rip off the Chinese design. :D

At first I thought maybe the Sheffield and the AR were the same, but the rubber inserts are different, the handle shape seems a little different (fatter on the Sheff), and the clip point is a little more pronounced as well, imo. So they aren't the same knife. It's weird that they're ripping off a cheaper design.

That's what I was thinking. Fiskars is responsible for all that Winchester crap. I don't know who is bringing in the Scheffield stuff, but I wouldn't blow any coffee out my nose if it was Fiskars.
