Yeah, it is kind of shiney i guess. All i used was a 80 grit poly wheel and a diamond stone. It may not be pretty but its a lot more useful than it was when i bought it

That's OK. It won't stay a signal mirror. A nice patina will form over time as you use it.

If you like it, that's all that matters. And I'll bet it was a lot of work.
