Hi.
New guy, new knife.
Originally found this section of the forum while browsing the "modifying the cold steel tomahawk" thread, and saw quite a few beckers there, so i had to come over here to see what these knives were all about
Spent a long time lurking here, trying to decide which becker was to be my first.
You guys werent much help, as it seems it doesnt really matter what you start with, you will end up buying them all anyway.
just got a BK2 in the mail the other day, and man, this thing is gnarly, absolutely love it
absolutely hated the nylon belt loop/retention strap though, couldnt even breathe without it flopping around, and it seems the only reason for the retension strap was to make it more rigid.
was in the garage looking for my dykes, and ended up with this solution about an hour later. this was really only 15min of work, but i had a tough time finding my exacto kit.....
not perfect, but much more secure, height is perfect, dont need the retention strap, and can sit down without it riding up/dragging on the seat, and most importantly, dont need 2 hands do draw it
so tomorrow it will be stripped, and i will probably be getting some micarta scales shortly after that, and then brake down and buy a BK9 shortly after that.... or so the story goes...
i like those dykes better without pants anyway.....
