I'm debating a 15 or another 7 but I need to visualize how my hand will fit the 15.

Never held a 15.

Love my 7, so that's my baseline.

Would someone who owns both be kind enough to post comparison pics?

I'm thinking the mini 15 will be too cramped like my mini com was, but the standard size just might work. But plz shoot whatever ya got!

Thanks so much!

Cool.

Do you by chance own the standard, too?

Not sure of which model you speak, although the answer is "yes" regardless. I favor the Roadhouse over the 15 in full size (and Super - hint hint EKI at the long wanted Super 15 that has yet to be), but prefer the 15 in mini-size. My hand feels like it wants to fall off the end of a miniRH, but the mini15 has the flange to keep it secure (albeit snug). There has been a number of times I've seen the Mini15 described as the Emerson version of the Para2 in the Spydie lineup (that is praise).

If your hand feels comfortable on the full-sized 7, you may find the mini-15 a little cramped. I'm with OM in that its a perfect fit for my hands, which are 3.5" wide at the knife-gripping part of my palm. My mini-Com has a bit more handle room than my mini-15 does. If you were cramped on a mini-Com, I think I'd try a full-sized 15 first. The CQC15 blade design is an outstanding general purpose Emerson blade. It's what I carry 95% of the time that I carry a folder. It excels at everyday cutting chores. The full-sized 15 will do as well for larger hands, I'm sure.

You might like the feel of a SOCFK in hand. it feels perfect. I traded one to a guy and its currently up for grabs in the exchange. I almost want to buy it back lol. But yeah I'd try a full size 15 first off, then work my way down to a Mini if necessary.

I've actually got fairly large hands (size large in most work gloves), this is me holding a Super Roadhouse Custom:

I still feel fine holding and using a Mini15 due to it's shape, even though it is snug. Really great knife, those mini15's.

I love the 15 and mini-15...two of my favorite folders. The mini is perfect edc size for me (similar to a para 2) and the full size is great overall and perfect in gloves.

I'll get a couple pics up tomorrow.

Sorry to break in, but would anyone be so kind to post a photo or compare some Emersons for me?

I have a Horseman, and it fits my hand just wonderful. But true indeed - one Emerson leads to another, and now I'm looking for another one :)

Well, the thing is - I just can't decide what will fit my hand the best. I just love the grip of CQC-15 - and the blade of CQC-13...I wish I could combine them in one knife..*sign*

Well, the models I look on are the Mini CQC-15, the Journeyman and the iconic CQC-7. Somehow I

Would any owner be so kind to make a pic of them aligned on the pivot screw, so I can understand the sizing? And if someone puts a Horseman on that pic, I'd be very grateful, as it's the only Emerson I have.

(BTW - thanks to the tread here with the pic of Horseman compared to RAT-1, after that pic I took my RAT-1 - and then bought the Horseman, which is my EDC fav now :) )

Here Here! The 15 in my book (and my Emerson collection) is one of my favorite all-time knives. I have a satin serrated version, I use the up heck out of it and it still looks like it did when I bought it when I wipe the blade down with WD-40.

I second the want (need!) for a Super 15!

That would be, well...Super!

I totally agree. I have a Super SOCFK, and I love it but I prefer bigger knives, 4" or so. A regular SOCFK would be good if you really like the 7 blade shape.

On the 15, I also agree with the full size first. That is a wonderful all-a-rounder, and not too big, either.

I carried the 7 for many years and then lost it one day. Fortunately, I found it at a later date. I decided to go with a Mini 15 as a replacement. However, for me it felt too small for my hands. I typically wear size large glove, so my hands aren't huge. I ended up giving the Mini to my wife who has small hands which fits her perfectly & picked up a standard 15 for myself. I really like the design of the 15 and the standard size feels great in my hands.
