Your/my old Bura made WWII saw action up in Talil, Iraq, strapped to the load bearing equipment of an Army combat engineer. Saw the boy a few days back, picking up supplies to go back up. The knife's in good shape, few small dings in the edge, and a few more scratches on the blade, but not a speck of rust and well cared for. That good blade has now served in two different combat theatres, so when it finally goes up over the mantelpiece it will have earned it's place of honor.

Not to be a smart A. But, I don't think we would expect any less from an HI khuk.

Make sure you stay awake when you are supposed to. We are waiting for you. I won't miss the next visit to the Dog and Duck.:) :)

Good to hear they served well.

Makes both of us ( and Uncle too ) feel good to know they still serve the same purposes, and mostly benign at that, as their predecessors centuries ago, doesn't it?

If nothing else it's hanging in reach as a comfort in times of war.

More pragmatically, used to make field situations more comfortable.

And if called on, to be weapons.
