Hey Sal another Spyderco knockoff round hole and all

definiteley looks like a rip-off but maybe its just my eyes are fooling me a little but the edges of the hole looks a little "rounded" which would make it a direct ripoff :jerkit: . People should give respect and recognition to the inventors of a good idea such as the spydie hole.
 
And they even called it a "Pilica". And they want $69 for it, in AUS-8A. Who the hell would pay that when they could have a REAL Delica, cheaper?
 
I own a down Mont-Bell jacket and it's very nice. They are a fairly high-end company and would think they're above this.

They (mont-bell) probably have no idea that the knife is a hack.
 
Cripes, that is blatant. Any possibility this was something Spyderco did for Mont bell? Like how Benchmade did for H&K.

Seems a bit high for that price on a AUS8 blade. You could have one of the ZDP 189 Delicas for less than that.

Looks very similar to the CJ and Delica both to me.
 
The handle inserts looked pure Spyderco which made me think collaberation. The fact it is not and by a company like Mont Bell is very sad. Blatant copy.
 
It seems that MontBell is a Japanese company.

I have 2 Montbell cycling shirts; high quality stuff.

Maybe Montbell didn't commission the knives. Perhaps somebody came to them and offered the knife to them. Montbell may have bought the knife without knowing it's background.
It sure looks EXACTLY like the ProGrip handle.
Maybe the Japanese factory that made the Progrip decided to use the handle as a basis for it's own knives.
Nice looking blade, too bad it's not quite legit.

Personally, I add Mont Bell to the list of companies that I will never do business with.

I'm pretty sure Spyderco won't be discussing their legal response here.
