hey sal hope all is well with ya - and a question - what is your edc? do ya carry 1, 2 etc at a time, and do you rotate your edc's, or do ya have one or two favorites? i just got an old model military, and heard ya carried one a lot, and thought, wow if i could choose between all those knives, what the heck would i do?

any way just intersted , thanks for the info

If I was to guess what Sal carried the most (out of the Spyderco range) it would be...

1. His Military in C/F
2. A Police in G10
3. A Shabaria

That is my top three guess!
 
Hi Sifu. I have a rotation like many do. Mostly I carry prototypes because I'm testing and refining designs and steels...always.

If I'm involved in a particular activity, I'll adjust the rotation. If I'm sailing, I always carry a lightweight with teeth (Endura, Delica or Rescue).

I almost always have a Ladybug or a proto of the same size. I carry the Military quite a bit. But also because we use the Mil for a testing platform. I have a plain edge Mil with a David Boye Dendritic cobalt blade that's been getting a lot of use lately. The Lil' Tempeance is usually a carry when in Denver because the Mil is too large to be legal in Denver. I always fly with a little knife, Meerkat lately, or Navigator, Cricket etc. In the Bush, I almost always have a FB with me.

thanks for the info sal - i just got a 'millie' last week in a trade(traded a BM AFCK for it...) and since i had never seen one, only pics, didnt know what to expect - i really like the knife, larger than i thought it would be, and light - its an older model w/the ATS34 blade, and definitly a keeper - spydie #10 for me!!! anyway thanks sal,

Sal, how is that Dendritic Cobalt doing in your testing? I hope it works and makes it's way into production, love to have a Military with that blade material. Would make a great carry for work near freshwater, ocean or human sweat. I'm crossing my fingers.:D
 
Hi Brian. so far so good on the dendritic cobalt. I'd like to do a test production run next year. Maybe with a Delica pattern.

Hi Nakano. I spoke with Pat & Wes at the Guild show.. They said the knife was almost finished and they still need to add the teeth.

a spyderco crawford/kasper fighter w/a round hole???? when did this come about? my very very favorite knife is my custom Crawford Kasper Ti fighting folder, and honestly CRKT makes a helluva copy - but spydie outta be 100% beytter -I like all of crawfords designs, recently picked up a BM 625S, LNIB, no not LNIB, New In Box, the leopard, and its pretty darned cool too, and also have a crawford point guard too, and a custom polkawski companion, guess i like kaspers designs also - put me down for one too sal - to heck w/CRKT pro's. i'll wait on the spydie.....

:( you had my hopes up there about that kasper....hey sal think about that in a production......a very nice production knife.. pleazzz
 
How about this? A Kasper with Ti handles a compression lock and a VG-10 blade oh and a SpyderHole (tm). Send me to knife heaven and throw away to key! Lets send some people with Italian blood round to CRK&T to 'ask' them;) to let Spyderco use the design!

Just kidding! Violence is never a cool thing and I don't want to give the impression that I condone this type of thing.:D !

SO buy the design! PLEASE:p !

:) but then what do I know? Just call me selfish, but I think the Kasper aught to have been a Spyderco all along.:confused:
