Love the Delica! ....LOOKIN.....at it....it's THIN.

Thin enough that I betcha you could make a knife with a liner lock down the middle (like the Victorinox One Hand Trekker blade/screwdriver combo) and put a SERRATED blade with the HOLE on one end and a PLAIN edge nail-nick blade on the OTHER end.....and it would STILL be thin.

..........................AND....................................

make a BUNCH of us spend even MORE money on Spyderco stuff.

I know, I know, it would make a "tax problem" but ....think of the happy users.

:D

P.S. As long as it didn't have an open "change catcher" back.

dog,,,,darned if it don't.

I have NEVER seen that before. I kinda would like the serrations to be on a pointy blade as I think serrations are the best for defense if needed for such.

But....thanks....for the info.

Now....what to do???

dang.

:)

Hi Lavan:

The Dyad was/is a great knife. I have heard rumors that it was dropped for patent issues, but I've never heard a confirmation for Spyderco.

Perhaps a re-issue is in order: With dual compression locks (from center liner, short throw); and a less radical PE blade (maybe a wharncliffe--better point strength), and G-10. A compression lock might get past any patent arguments, and allow for a full 3mm blade thickness.

With all the knife-phobia, at present, the Dyad still looks like a "worker's tool"--harks back to the traditional jack-knife shape. It is a great "under the radar" EDC.

Perhaps Sal could comment.

Best regards.

The Dyad was disco'd. Another knife company made a "very similar" model at a very low price. We couldn't stop them legally, despite 3 patents and a trademark. (loopholes & dollars).
