We didn't open our above ground pool this year. It remained covered and I try to keep the water off the top the best I can. In most cases - when I take the cover off to open my pool the water is almost perfect. Clean and clear. Our pool is 10,000 gallons.

My question is... with it sitting so long should I do something....add something before winter?

Thanks in advance!

It certainly wouldn't hurt to peek under the cover and look at the water quality and do a test of sanitizer, PH and total alkalinity. Almost all covers are premiable.. water and fine debris goes through seams. So you might want to adjust the chemistry before winter. Correct PH and TA are best for the condition of the liner and sanitizer action. You wouldn't want to open it with clear-looking water that was actually a bacterial soup!
