I’ve been lurking around here for quite some time. I have been making fixed blades for about 7 years as a hobby mostly. Thanks to Tony Bose and Kerry Hampton spending some time with me last year, I was inspired to give slip joints a try and this is what came out. Let me know what you think.

It's a modified TB Backpocket pattern made of D2, Brazilian rosewood and has stainless bolsters. The pics aren’t the best….I was so excited I didn’t even wipe off the finger prints, but I think you will get the point.

Thanks, Brent Cramer

Quite nice for a first:thumbup: I don't think I've ever seen ambi nail pulls before.

Thanks,
You probably can't tell from the pic but the nail pull is cut all the way through. Sometimes mistakes give way to innovation!

What mistake? Kind of like a Scagel. Nice. ;)

Feels good doesn't it Brent? I'm proud of you. I hope that thing is in your back pocket. Please bring it by so we can CF and CE it.

It sure does! And it sure is!!! I'll try to stop by within the next week or so. I can't tell you how well it walks and talks, you'll have to just finger it for yourself. Thanks again for your encouragement.

That's great well done, you should be proud.:thumbup:

Your first,, Son on this light tackle:eek:.. She's Sweeet!

My advice to you is to UPGRADE yourself to a Knife Makers status here and give them boyz a little competition over in the Knife Makers For Sale sub forum!.

Good Luck whatever you decide cause I can see you will do well.

Best,
Anthony

I like the slanted bolsters. You better be careful, guys on this forum will start putting in orders for your knives when they see this one.

Congrats Brent!

It looks pretty schweet to me especially for a first. I know my first would not come close to what you have done.

I really like it. I hope you cont. to make slippies. The blade looks good and thin. You did a great job on the grind.

Thanks,
John

As for selling them I would love to......but I have such a limited amount of time to make! I'm just happy if I can get one out every other month.

Thanks John, I don't have a 14" wheel so I flat ground the blade as thin and as high as I could.
