Trying to get an answer as to why I might want to run my Hinderer on Teflon. If you are one of the guys who does, let us know why.

Mostly on PB washers - just feels right. Bearings on a couple of "dress knives".

I'm about half PB and half bearings at this point, and I converted most of my previous generation Hinderers to PB washers. I find the PB is smoother once it really breaks in, but the teflon on the older ones was not bad by any means.

I've heard people say that teflon is better at self lubricating, so it can go longer without being lubed, where you have to keep a little lube on PB. I'm not sure how true that is though.

Here's is my experiences. I have two Triways, both of them came really stiff on Teflon (oddly not pre-assembled bearing). I had to swap one in bearing and the second in PB and the one in bearing literally has an almost drop shutty action. The latter, on the other hand, has a super hydraulic action. like a sebenza. But then again, i suspect the stiffness depends on the worker that assembled them together. Because, my Maximus, which isn't a triway whatsoever, came ultra smooth out of the gate, so i left it as is. The only downfall, i see with Teflon is, it can and probably falls apart in short run depending on what you are doing, where as PB last almost forever. Bearings is environment dependent. Bottomline is, teflon does have a nice smoothness to it (although some said that it has a stick/slip feeling) but PB can also achieved the same resolve and even better and last longer.

My 2 cents.
