the finishing system I am about to start learning about is

cerakote

and the stuff makes duracoat look like cheap enamal....

salt water and moisture resistance

a Hawk in cerikote.....would be awesome because you cant marr it by hitting it with a hammer.....

and I can never remember if it is cerakote or cerikote....
 
I am guessing it is Cerakote, due to the ceramic in it.

I have a 1911 coated in it, tough stuff. I had heard its not great for guns, because the ceramic particles rub and cut each other. But I got it this way in a trade and like it alot. Not to worried about it.

I am a full time gunsmithing student at Murray State College...it is wonderful for guns...but someone did say they changed their formula

I will be coating my Vec hawk with it....
