We've dropped below some of the other "S" forums, alphabetically.....I hope they (Spark) let us keep this forum, at least to play out the sale. :(

Bill

PS
We are a unique group of good folks.....and there will always be Schrade questions for the great forumites like UH Fan, LT, Phil, Don Luis, lrv, schradewebguy, and many others, to answer.

Bill

Bill... See the post I just made in the "Service and Support" forum.

I think it is time all of us gave thanks to the powers that be here for keeping this forum going, despite not having an 'offical' moderator for two years and in light of the fact our favorite brand is now out of production.

We joke around a bit, but we provide answers... damn quickly... to anyone with a question. I think we walk that fine line of being tight-knit, but also warmly welcoming to anyone who shows up here.

Phil

Thanks for your post over there, Bill. I am not above lobbying to keep our home here safe. Or paying, as you can see with my new 'gold membership'. Like my Avatar?
Phil

Very SHARP avatar, Phil. :D

Maybe they'll keep the forum around after all......" I've got no place else to go" ..... is the line that comes to mind.

Bill

There are some great people here and I will do whatever to keep the forum going but, everything has a lifespan and with Schrade gone we are now more of a historical society. So don't be surprised or upset by that which we cannot control, which I have come to realize is just about everything. LT

If it does go, I recommend a major assault on the "Traditional" forum. One of the other forums I visit (audio related) has developed unofficial "Teams" that usually refer to their favorite brand, equipment, or cartoon characters (did I mention that was an audio forum?) Anyway, I'll say it:

Proud Member of Team Schrade

A POEM: Semper Fi, with Schrade now gone we can only try.

Old timers at the ready, Uncle Henry has got our back
Step back nonbelievers were ready to attack.

Made in sweet America not some foreign steel, our voices like those edges those foreigners will feel.

If you try to run us out you will only see
that like the colors of the flag that Schrade did proudly wave
we will not run to easily. ::::

Aw heck this is even to much for me can you tell I was home this weekend and got bored. contests, poems, my old socks.

Come on you big wheels at Bladeforum give us a break what would you do if we all actually got a life and stopped posting. HUH think about that. LT

Hey, if any of "the powers that be" are reading all of these posts, please consider that some of us lost more of Schrade than you can ever realize. Please allow us to stick around to keep the dedication and the Company going. We'll do our best to represent it as well as possible. If it's a question of a moderator, do I qualify?

Well I have to say I do not care who gets the job ( as long as it is not me ) However while Deb is the best and certainly would be great. I feel that PHIL who has been there the whole time and is almost the official welcome wagon should be asked as well if he has an interest. Also I do not know about some of the other Old Timers ( hey thats pretty good old timers ). anyway for who ever gets it I just want you to know my opinion is that, WEE DON NEED NO STINKING RULES and I plan to be just as beligerant as ever. LT

I agree wholeheartedly that both Debbie and Phil would be great choices as Moderators to help us carry on here.

Bill

Can we have two?? It would kind of be like beauty and the beast. Sorry there goes my sick sense of humor. I think I will remain mute on this subject at this point either one would be great, both even better. LT

Well whoever takes it over or even of no one takes on the job, I see no reason that what can't keep this forum alive.
There are alot of Schrades owners and fans even if the company is defunct.
Hope it carries on, its got my support :)

Kap

Sure we can have 2 (TWO) Moderators, many forums have multiple Moderators......Besides, it makes up for all the time we've had none. :D

And, just for you LT, they would be so busy consulting on the rules, that it'll be years before we have any. ;)

Bill

My belief is that there are moderators watching (not from Schrade but from the forums), they are just very discreet lurking around checking us up and watching at the ready for spam, trolls, whine and cheese material, etc. They know we are OK (for now at least).

Of course an official moderator would be a good idea.

Luis

Ah the moderators in BLACK. Actually I believe you are correct. Perhapes we could do something wrong to see if we get punished . I would do it but I don't know what the rules are. However I have noticed that every so often an icy hand comes out of cyberspace and redirects my path. I must say that in the past these slight corrections in my coordinates have been benevolent and without vindictivness against my opinions or comments. They are more tuned to any faux pax ( spelling??? ) which may have caused my transgression from the straight and narrow of the rules of proper peocedure peculiar to this medium of conversation.

Of course being a man of science I feel this is due mostly to my sacrifices of craven images the burning of incense and various other rituals on the moderator alter in my living room, which keeps me safe from the possibility of these omnipresent beings. taking offense at my somewhat sarcastic ( and totally unimportant ) rantings. LT

I have to agree that this forum doesn't really need a Moderator. It is a pretty comfortable and friendly place to be...so if it isn't broke, why fix it. I was just wondering if the Moderator issue would be a reason for the "downslide" of the forum. Why don't we all become Moderators and just keep on doing what we're doing...he he. Seems to be okay with us.

Our LT flatters me. Thank you sir. But if the choice ever comes down to one of us... We want the Lady from Ellenville. Let's see how many of the knife books on my shelf have that dear woman's name in them... There is BR Levine's, where she has contributed to the Schrade commemoratives section... there is Robert Clemente's book on Schrades where she is given an excellent mention on the title page.. Need I go on?

Besides, this is not in our hands. Let's just figure we're doing OK and let the big brothers keep on eye on us. And if they have a Schrade, sock or tamaulipeca question, they can ask us.

Subject closed?

Love ya, my friends,

Phil
