Greetings, everyone.

I only wanted to post and introduce myself to you fine blade-slinging folks. I'm new here to Bladeforum, and to the Balisong. And unlike Death, I'm more about Life. :D

I had my first Bali (cheapo but fun flea-market type) back when I was about 14. Being raised in a wee rural town in Arkansas (there's another type?), there were no resources for instruction, and I damn near lopped off a finger or two before I gave up on it.

FFWD to nowadays, and I have another similarly inexpensive but relatively okee Bali. What's more important, though, is that I first discovered Clay's site, and then Balisong.com. I'm AMAZED at the sheer volume of info, pictures, video, etc., and have a much better feel for what I'm looking at. I'm particularly impressed with Clay's site! Hafta drop ya an e-mail, dude!

At any rate, happy times to you all, looking forward to learning this whacked out knife.

Peace
Pj

Glad to have you aboard. Everyone here is really great and always happy to answer a question. You can learn alot.

Welcome!! Glad to hear that you have seen the error of your ways and have seen the light over here in the Balisong Forum :D Enjoy learning how to flip, it is a blast and it is a neverending process, for another video go here:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=170257

that is what I am really focusing on right now (I thought of it one day after some inspiration of misguided people and I started practicing it and I got a video of me doing it and Chuck was nice enough to let me use some of his space on his website to put it up). You will learn a lot from all the various balisong websites and photo albums of balisongs, great info around here. :D Enjoy!

Welcome dude, You can learn alot here and also have fun. If you ever have ?'s, post'em, they will be answered.:D

Welcome to the forums man! I always have a big grin on my face when I see someone new here, because I think few people realize what they're getting themselves into. :D Balisongs and learning the skill to flip 'em is one of the most addictive things on the planet. And it only grows stronger with time. :)

If you have a question, someone will always be able to answer it. Buy lots of band-aids and have fun flippin'!!

Welcome to the family, Piper. Yeah, this is something that's somewhere between a hobby and an addiction, it's up to you. :D:D It's more of a hobby to me, but I still can't get those finger twirl moves yet...I'm gonna have to keep working on that...

Hi PJ, welcome to our friendly little community. Always happy to seea new face........ well, sort of.

You came in at a good time. There are quite a few quality Balis being made these days, unlike 2 years ago when I first started my site.

So now, go read and enjoy some of the many informative posts you've been missing out on all these years........ and let the obsession begin!

........ by the way, thanx for the kind words dude.

Hey, thanks for the warm reception! As a newbie, I really do appreciate the invitation for questions and the general acceptance of a learner. Right on, y'all!

And you can betcha I'll be having some questions for posting.

Over the weekend, I must have spent 5 hours with my wee 'song, just working on the beginner vertical opening (ricochet of back of hand, then finger). And I did so without a single cut!! WOOHOO!! (Okay, one time I did grab the bite handle, and came really close, but eh.) I guess I'd call this my first "fancy open," since all I'd been able to do is a simple "drop-flick-catchwiththethumbouttatheway" kind of thing.

But I did run out and get a big tube of Neosporin...

Happy times and places, y'all
Pj
