I don't have any kids and I would like to display my knife collection for my personal pleasure. Currently they're sitting in a neat little row in my closet. Do any of you have any display cases or other ways of putting out your knives so you can check them out? Or do you really keep them locked up in a safe all the time except for brief glances?

I thought a quick and dirty way could be with pegboard and some rubber over the hangers and resting the knives on them... Or maybe an actual display case so the knives won't get dusty, and if (god forbid) there's an earthquake...

Please let me know what you've done! I like Skunk's drawer system but still you've gotta pull the drawers if you want to get a look. I guess with the number of knives he's got though, that's the only way! Thanks!

I just read my post, and no jokes about pulling your drawers to get a look! (or Amy-0s, or any Busse employee's)

I agree that it would be cool to display them but I don't. I am always leary of making my small collection too easy to steel if someone breaks into my home. A shadow box or whatever just screams valuable/collectable. I do like keeping my FBMLE on the hearth to split firewood but the rest I keep out of sight. :o

Later this summer I'm building a glass fronted case to hold Busse's, swords, large and small axes (Gransfors Bruks Battle axe) and two bows. I've had some issues leaving things under the couch/bed, on the floor, in kitchen cabinets/on kitchen counters.

My wife is no longer amused.

My truck and several motorcycles are in my attached garage and I consider those vastly more likely to be stolen than a set of knives of questionable value to your every-day prowler.

Maybe I should take my location out of my forum profile

I have been trying to think of a display case exactly as you have so if anybody does have any ideas or better still, pics, please post !!!!

As a single guy, I don't have anything that looks valuable EXCEPT gear LOL. You just never know with meth adicts. They will grab what they can easily carry. Hell, they are stealing guard rails and wire off the highways to recycle here in Oregon . I do think a nice display case would be so sweet though.

A case made of serious wood with some steel reinforcements and 1/2" plexiglass or something would delay a smash and grabber.

Here is mine! Although it does not show everything!;)

Ronybear....Now that's what I call a shrine to everything we all love! Excellent. (I would be afraid to put them on display unless I had full time security though :-)

My problem in spending a good chunk of cash on a secure display case is two fold. 1) My collection is ever in flux. 2) If I spend a sizeable chunk on a case, think of all the knives I could have bought with that chunk o change. :D
