Hey

Have no idea if you can legally get an auto for any price. It all depends on where you live unless you are an LEO-type or have one arm. Most decent auto's are >$100, but there are some MT UDT's for about $90-95 if I remember correctly.

If you mean "legal" as in US made there are only a few. The Microtech UDT is close to $100 and a couple of Benchmade knives will be near the mark but for under $100 only 1 US made comes to mind and that is Benchmark's Sidewinder.

Do a search under Google or any other search engine for those words and you will find several great dealers.

Hello Bgmyz426,
Welcome to the best knife forum on the Net. I'm sure you'l find all the info you need right here. Auto's are basicly pricy, however, visit Delta-Z Knives, They offer a small auto that's even legal in CA., and runs around $79.00. Barnaby Zelman the owner, is a certified Knife-A-Holic, like the rest of us here, and a joy to do business with. You can get to their site through the links page on my site. www.sunrisecustomknives.com

When I first started hunting for autos, I found This Place pretty handy.

Wondering what word: legal mean,

Be careful when you say the DeltaZ autos are "even legal in CA", which might be taken to imply that if they're legal there, they're legal anywhere. That would be patently untrue.

CA has a wierd law which specifically allows autos with blades under 2". In a lot of other jurisdictions (the state of NJ, for example) ALL autos are illegal, no matter the size, with the standard Military & LE exceptions.

A popular mail-order self-defense company was advertising a CA-auto in this manner, and I sent them an e-mail correcting them. They politely thanked me, but I don't know if they've changed their ad copy.
