Anybody have the code for the Horiz/vert metal cutting bandsaw at $149?

I saw a few posts with folks saying they got theirs for that price...

Need a new toy to break in the new shop...:D

Thanks!

Daniel, I haven't seen em at $149 for along time. They went up to $169 a while back.

Here you go Dan:

HF Bandsaw

It is $169 these days... You could watch for it to go on sale. I didn't check but they usually will ship free on purchases this size. Is there a local HF store in your new area? That way you can look at all the other stuff you need too. :D

You will pat yourself on the back forever after buying one of these. I'm not kidding!

HF doesn't charge freight on any order of $50.00+. That's a considerable savings on something like a bandsaw.

DAn...if it costs $189.00 I'd say get it.....way worth having the thing when you need it.

Dan,
I've had one for about six years now. Do yourself a favor and buy a good bimetal blade and get to cutting. If mine quit tomorrow I'd buy another one and not complain.

The cost provision is a practical, not philisophical one....I have less than $200 in the "knife bank"....:(

[edited to correct speelink...:D]

If you can do it, do it Dan. If not, take some of materials you have on hand and make something to sell and then do it. :) Won't even discuss how much debt I have, but if I ever get off butt and finish any of knives I'm working on next $200 absolutely will be for this, not for any of bills. Reached point(and built up right arm enough using hacksaw) that this is a must have tool. Just like I couldnt' live without my grinder(heck, couldn't live without it even if I never make another knife, just too useful)

I am working on a set of 4 right now. I cut these out in about 2 hrs for all 4. Profiled them from there in another hr or so......well worth it.

I made a table large enough to cut on and small enough to still fold for the horizontal mode.

Take a look at the stand I made. Nice to sit on while you cut......its nothing more than a modified short "saw buck" made to fit the saw dimensions. You will have to mount the saw to 1/8" flat metal or something to raise it up off the flat surface. I can email you a sketch if you want when you get one....

I got bimetal blades for $8 a piece and wood blades for $6....I too would get another if this were to fail. The motor will go out on it sooner or later. Its the cheap China made type......but it works for now :D
