Just recieced my HF portaband and Morse bimetal blades. For $59.95 you can't beat the saw.
I made a table and a jig to hold the saw in my vise. The table is easily removed so the saw can be used in the conventional way.
I also made a file jig from some 1/4"x2" 1095 with stainless guide pins. Just have to get some 1/4-20 cap screws and its ready to go.

Heck I wouldn't have thouhgt of that. Excellent.

/Runs off to Harbor Freight/ :D

How did you secure the table?

Thanks in advance.

NC-C,
I've got two of them now. The bi-metal blades are the dinkdum aren't they? I did have to modify the backer bearing on the first one to keep it tracking and not gouging the frame but it's still running and performing great. I use it to slice up leaf springs, saw blades, etc. without annealing. Not sure how I ever did without them.

I welded a piece of 1" angle to the bottom of 1/4"x4"x6" mild steel to duplicate the mounting of the guide that comes with the saw. Just removed the guide and used the same screws. If you don't have a welder, counter sunk flat head screws could be used to attach the angle.

Cool, I did pretty much the same thing with a Porta band, though the table I made is a good bit smaller and I just clamp it up in a small vice.
