I've been looking at the HG-55 MO a lot lately and I'm really liking the looks of it....

I'd like to know what you guys think of it, especially those who have handled or used it.

Comparison photos would be great......

THe handle is great and the ones with the flat grind are the best IMO. THe CBT's are cool and look wicked but not real practical.

Its a .25" so its a little thick for slicing, but with CBT's it makes one heck of a can opener/ultimate destroyer of cars doors and hoods:thumbup::D

Only had these cataloged

Thanks for the comparison pics Knife Hunter,

I love the looks of the handle....I guess I could live without the CBT but it sure looks killer!

I'm a huge fan of full flat grinds especially on something .25" and upwards.

The HG-55 might just end up being a grail knife for me in the 6" range.....:)

you might also like the Urban Grudge (UG). It is full flat with unsharpened swedge, more distal taper, and very similar shape. Ill see if I can find the original offering link. I actually have mine in a Rainwalker HG55 IWB.

Thanks for the link Dark.

I just checked the Urban Grudge, looks great to me!

It looks like it would fit in perfectly with what I'm looking for.....

It seems like these would be pretty hard to find, huh?

they are both out of production so you never know. Id love to see a pick with a pork shank. They should be pretty close in size except for the .15 vs .25

OINK... HG55!!!

And I'll give a  to the UG as well... great blade!
I like Rob's (Stanley)... he picked up a really soooweeeeeet UG without the false edge on the spine.

I really like mine; for it's size, it's very stout, a little heavy, but the thick stock allows it to be useful even for camp chores, like batoning. If you're going to buy one though, I would hold off until you find a good price. I've seen them resell for as low as $197, and if you wait a while and keep an eye out, they still sell for $250-275 from time to time on the exchange. Good luck!

Great advice Smurf, those were my thoughts exactly on the market for these....

I'll be waiting for an opportunity as $350 is a wee bit much....:barf:

Maybe a good user will come along for a steal!!;)

That satin one with red liners is just effin EPIC

i don't usually like knives that pointy, but i think i'd be forced to stab something repeatedly if i got my hands on that

I havet some BJ protos I can probably get some pictures with tonight. They are .22 instead of 3/16 but the same profile. That would give you a choilless option too if you wanted to maximize edge or eliminate the snag point.

You could also consider the CABS for almost as much edge in a much smaller package
