Does anyone have experience with this knife in the field? Particularly the ones with full length CBT. The HG55 came out right about the same time that I first became interested in Busse knives, but for one reason or another I never bought one.

Please offer your opinions. I'm only interested in hearing the opinions from members who have actually used one.

Thank you,

Adam

Bomb proof. If prying and extreme heavy duty use are what you need, hg55 is def for you.

Have owned three. One of my all time fav Busse's. The LE is too thick but the competition finish (rare bird) is just right!!!

Yeah, I don't expect to ever get one of the comp. finish ones. There are a few up for auction, but those prices are out of my reach.

Thanks for the responses, guys!

^^This. It's a stout knife, with about a 5.5" blade length. Feels light in hand, and the grip is very secure (g10). Personally I like the Bombproof tip version (which is why I bought it), the corrugations all the way to the tip just concerned my too much. But if you managed to find a CF HG55, it will demand a high price. Better off just getting coated and stripping+polishing it. If I was doing it again, that's what I would do.

The HG55 knife is an awesome knife , i just got it back from Custom Shop with a superb mammoth tooth handle

JUST GOT IT BACK FROM CUSTOM SHOP , AWESOME HG55

This model is on my list, I picked up a Rodent Trail instead. Similar blade shape with out the choil.

Have owned/used several as well... as has already been stated, these are 'bomb-proof'! Field performance has been outstanding; IMO, HG55's are some of the most overlooked Busse Combat models out there, I highly recommend picking one up!
